Inverted Nipple Correction
Inverted nipples (nipple retraction) are caused by shortened milk ducts or connective tissue structures that pull the nipple inwards. As a result, the nipple is permanently or temporarily inverted, which can be both aesthetically and functionally problematic. Surgical correction allows the nipple to be permanently repositioned further forward and improves the appearance of the breast.

Consultation
During a face-to-face consultation, the severity and cause of the inverted nipples will be assessed. Preparation
Following consultation with your doctor, blood-thinning medication should be stopped or adjusted a few days before the procedure. Smoking should be avoided where possible to promote optimal wound healing.
Surgery / Injection
The shortened connective tissue structures are released via small, barely visible incisions at the base of the nipple. The nipple is then secured in its new position. Depending on the findings, special sutures may be used to ensure a long-term result.
Aftercare
A protective dressing is applied to the nipple to relieve pressure for a few days. Pressure on the nipple should be avoided during the first few weeks. Most patients are able to resume normal social activities after a few days.
