Scar Correction
Scars can be both aesthetically and functionally problematic. Once a scar has fully matured – after around 6 to 12 months – scar revision can improve conspicuous, hardened or restrictive scars. The aim is to achieve a less conspicuous appearance of the skin that blends harmoniously with the surrounding tissue, as well as to alleviate any functional problems.

Consultation
During a face-to-face consultation, the scar will be assessed in terms of its location, extent and skin quality. You will also be given comprehensive information about the procedure, any potential risks and the realistic outcome you can expect.
Preparation
Wait for the scars to heal (6 to 12 months) before undergoing surgical correction. Following consultation with your doctor, blood-thinning medication should be stopped or adjusted a few days before and after the procedure.
Surgery / Injection
Depending on the type and location of the scar, correction is achieved through targeted excision, repositioning or refinement of the scar tissue. The scar is then re-formed with minimal tension and, where necessary, augmented with the patient’s own fat to improve the quality of the skin.
Aftercare
Give your body 1 to 2 weeks’ rest. Apply sun protection consistently after the operation. Start intensive scar massage once the wound has healed properly.
Result
Less conspicuous, softer scars with improved skin quality and a more harmonious blend with the surrounding tissue.
