As we age, the distance between the nose and the upper lip (philtrum) often increases, whilst the upper lip loses volume, definition and visibility. As a result, the lip often appears narrower, flatter and less youthful. A lip lift corrects these age-related changes by shortening the distance between the nose and the upper lip and enhancing the visibility of the lip line. During a face-to-face consultation, the proportions of the upper lip and the distance between the nose and the upper lip are carefully analysed. We work together to define your preferences and the optimal treatment strategy. If required, the shape of the lips can be harmoniously enhanced using autologous fat or hyaluronic acid. Preparation
On the day of the treatment, the lip area should be free of make-up and lipstick. Following consultation with your doctor, any blood-thinning medication should be stopped or adjusted a few days before and after the procedure.
Surgery / Injection
A narrow strip of skin is removed via a fine incision along the natural contour beneath the nose, and the tissue above the muscles is mobilised. This lifts the upper lip and makes the red part of the lip more visible. The scar is precisely positioned along the base of the nose and is usually barely visible afterwards. If required, the procedure can also be combined with a volume-enhancing treatment using the patient’s own fat or hyaluronic acid.
