Male Breast Correction

Gynecomastia is characterised by an enlargement of the male breast due to excess glandular and/or fatty tissue. This can be caused by hormonal, genetic or age-related factors and is often perceived as aesthetically unsightly. The aim of treatment is to restore a flat, masculine chest contour with harmonious proportions.

Duration of the procedure

1 to 2 hours

Anaesthesia

Twilight sleep or general anesthesia

Stay

Outpatient or inpatient with 1 overnight stay

Post treatment

Compression vest for 6 weeks

Recovery time

1 to 2 weeks

Key Information

A flat, masculine chest contour achieved by removing glandular and fatty tissue, leaving inconspicuous scars.

Consultation

During a face-to-face consultation, we will analyse the shape of your breasts, the composition of the tissue and the possible causes of gynaecomastia. Together, we will define the treatment objectives and decide on the most suitable surgical method. You will be given a full explanation of the procedure, the risks involved and the expected outcome.

Preparation

To ensure optimal wound healing, you should stop smoking for around four weeks before and after the operation. Blood-thinning medication should be stopped or adjusted a few days before the procedure, following consultation with your doctor.

Surgery / Injection

Depending on the findings, the excess glandular tissue is removed via a discreet incision at the edge of the areola. The procedure is often combined with liposuction to achieve a smooth and natural breast contour. In cases where the condition is pronounced, excess skin may also be removed.

Aftercare

After the procedure, the compression vest should be worn for six weeks. It is recommended that you take it easy for around two weeks, and you should avoid strenuous physical activity for four to six weeks.

Result

A flat, well-defined chest contour with a natural, masculine appearance and an improved sense of well-being. The scars are usually inconspicuous and located at the edge of the areola.
